The signs and symptoms of a panic attack develop abruptly and usually reach their peak within 10 minutes. Most panic attacks end within 20 to 30 minutes, and they rarely last more than an hour.
When you go through this condition, it would make you feel like you are having a heart attack, to the point that you would even think that death is forthcoming. The bad thing about this kind of disease is that there is no clear reason for the attack. They may even occur when you’re relaxed or asleep.
Well, It is been estimated that in the U.S there is over at least 20% of adult Americans, or about 60 million people, will suffer from panic attacks at some point in their lives.
The exact causes itself is still unclear, however there are certain factors that can be causing panic disorder and it is based on medical conditions and other physical causes just like any other behavioral disorder. This condition can be inherited based on evidences and can also be caused by factors that would trigger the attack. For example, graduating from college and entering the workplace, getting married, and having a baby. Severe stress, such as the death of a loved one, divorce, or job loss.
However, panic attacks and panic disorder are treatable conditions. They can usually be treated successfully with self-help strategies or a series of therapy sessions.Which I'm going to discuss it in the next post.
